Akatonbo (3:10)
Grade 3
adapted by Joseph Spaniola
based on a melody by Kôsaku Yamada
|
|
This
setting is an absolutely beautiful one of a classic Japanese
children's song written by composer, conductor and educator
Kôsaku Yamada. Here is a superb piece to instill
sensitive playing and phrasing in any age group.
Wonderful orchestration by Dr. Spaniola.
While
the piece is not difficult technically, it poses an excellent
opportunity to understand the significance of maturity in
playing.
